TESC #88

So I am back at it with another great sketch challenge from Taylor.

I thought it would be great to get a last minute Halloween card made before the season was gone. This was a great chance for me to use my pumpkin and spider punches. They are non-Stampin' Up! punches (gasp!) that I purchased last year. They were on sale and I couldn't resist.

All the paper products are Stampin' Up! including the die-cut letters from the Billboard alpha strip.

A Mellow Moss Greeting

Thank you leaf

I made this card for a customer using mellow moss cardstock and retired stamps. The leaf stamp was from a retired hostess set called Darling Dots from the previous season's catalogue. It's a great set!

The customer's color scheme was an earthy green and black. Mellow moss was the perfect color. The leaf was stamped in versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Heat embossing is one of my all-time favorite techniques.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Fall is here

The leaves are starting to turn into bright reds, yellows and oranges. I love the fall!

The lighting on this card is not the greatest, I'm sorry to say. I was in a rush and didn't set up my lighting correctly. I hope you can see the lovely Trendy Trees in all their fall glory.

Trendy Trees is such a great set.

Haunted Birdhouse

Why make a birdhouse when you can make a haunted birdhouse?!? The template for the birdhouse can be found here.

Haunted Birdhouse

I used Rich Razzelberry, one of this year's In Colors, for the house. The roof was a combination of Pumpkin Pie and Dusty Durango cardstock. I adhered scalloped strips onto the roof. The scallops were created using the Scallop Edge border punch.

Haunted Birdhouse

Finally, I added the stamped images from the Twick or Tweet stamp set. The candy was placed inside the birdhouse and the roof sits quite nicely on top.

I think this makes for a nice teacher's gift or for impressing the boss' kids. Hmmmm.....

Happy Thanksgiving!

To all my Canadian readers:

I hope you're all sharing this day with your loved ones and enjoying all the yummy food.

Thought I'd share this silly card with you.

The turkey has ridiculously large eyes, but it has a certain charm. My husband certainly thought it was cute.

Enjoy your day!

Owl's it going?

My On Board So Tweet chipboard has been neglected lately. I love chipboard. It's so versatile. You can cover it up, paint it, stamp it, whatever. The material is so sturdy and thick.

For this card, I sponged chocolate chip ink all over the owl die cut. The eyes were cut out with circle punches and the owl was glued to several layers of In Color paper.

The bottom of the card was punched out using the slit punch. It was a neat way to add interest. Also, I added glitter swirls to the background. I love glitter.

Pumpkin box

Last week, I visited my upline, Kari, and I was completely in love with this pumpkin goodie box that I had to try it for myself.

Pumpkin pillox box

The box was created using the pillow box die and cutting two pieces with the Big Shot. The face was made by punching out shapes with various punches.

Inside the pumpkin, I put a big bag of candy (yum!) and tied it with striped grosgrain ribbon.

Do you want to see all the cool things the Stampin' Up! Big Shot can do? Contact me and I'll give you a free demonstration.

I love candy

I really love Halloween candy. I love it even more when someone gives it to me.

The sweet treat cups make it easy to create irresistibly tasty cards. Just add treats!

I added jelly beans to my card and stamped the image with the Sweet Centers set. This set coordinates fabulously with the cups and has an image for nearly every holiday.

Halloween Candy

The centre of the stamped image was punched out and I used the punched piece as the greeting for the inside of my card.

Halloween Candy inside

I am just loving these cups. I can't wait for Halloween so I can tear into the card and eat the candy...I mean...give it to someone special... ;)

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Actually, it was yesterday, but I'm celebrating now and that's what counts!

I'd like to share this Halloween card with you. The stamp is from the Twick or Tweet set found in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.

It's a playful, rather than scary stamp set which works for me since I don't like the scary side of Halloween.

Skele bite

Right now, I'm into making 5 minute cards (or less) since I seem to be pressed for time. Once the pieces were cut, the gluing literally took minutes.
