On a sad note, the Pick of the Patch online store and message forum will be no more. There is a brick & mortar store in Coquitlam. The forum and layout gallery were very inspirational and the creative team rocked. I'll miss the online crops and my daily forum fixes.
More creative goodness in March.

I haven't had time for scrapbooking lately and I'm very behind on uploading my photos. :( My second-to-last exam is in three weeks and I guess now is the time to crack open the books. Yikes.

This album is the winning entry for Making Memories with Scrapbooking's mini-album contest. The contest rules asked that we create a mini-album using the products provided. The only things I could add were cardstock/chipboard to make the album and binding materials. The prize was a gift certificate to their store.
I was so excited to get that phone call! That only means more shopping for me! :)
How I created the album...
The album is 6 inches in height and 8 inches in width. The individual chipboard pages measure 4x6, 5x6, 6x6, 7x6 and 8x6. I added two acrylic pages, as well, which measured 6x6.
Next, I glued the pink ribbon pieces which were meant to act as page turners for the album. I then adhered the patterned paper provided in the contest kit. The paper was from My Mind's Eye.
I added some stamped flourishes, the additional ribbon, photos and journalling. The journalling is from Michael Buble's song You're Everything. Really sweet lyrics.

Here's a look at what we made.
The pull-out greeting is the sweetest thing! I never would have thought of that. I also love the colours Colleen chose for this card - a really nice combo.
The other thing we made that evening is this...
A goodie box, perfect for giving a special someone a few treats. The box did not take that long to assemble. The hardest part was choosing the paper! Now...what to fill it with?

I love cards with big embellishments! The big, bold, black flower was exactly what this card needed. I added some bling to the middle of the flower (of course!)
The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's discontinued sultry line and the letter stickers are American Crafts. The flower is by Bazzill Basics which I received in a kit that I purchased from Pick of the Patch.

This is a card I made using scraps. I used mainly Basic Grey's (now discontinued) Sultry line. I love striped patterned paper and the chipboard. The scallop edge is from Bazzill Basics and was leftover from another project.
The card measures 4x4 and it's a great mini-card to give to a special someone.

A quick and cute Valentine's Day greeting. I made this card in a matter of minutes! Gotta love that.
This card measures 6 x 6. I used American Crafts patterned paper and letter stickers, an acrylic heart by Making Memories and cardstock from Bazzill Basics.
Thanks for looking. More lovey-dovey cards to come!

I was asked to create two tags based on a sketch for the February edition of PageMaps.
Sketches are great ways to fire up your creative juices when you just don't have any clue where to start.
Take a look at my tags and the original sketch here and see all the other inspiring works.

I am so excited to share my first published layout with you.
This layout is published in an online e-zine called ScrapStreet.com for their chocolate themed article. How could I resist creating a layout about chocolate?!?
The layout and article can be found here.
