Inspired Crafters #6

Inspired Crafters SSC #6

I finally sat down and made a layout about the chocolate buffet on our last cruise. Yes, I have tons of cruise pictures. The pile is slowly dwindling which is good because there is another project in the works.

I found the Inspired Crafters SSC #6 challenge a little difficult because I wasn't too fond of the sketch, but I did my best with it. I threw in three brads for good measure as the challenge called for one. :)

Sketch & Stash # 29

Sketch & Stash 29

Another fun challenge at Sketch & Stash! I was able to use up a lot of stash starting with the Razzleberry Lemonade paper which I've been having a hard time parting with.

Keeping this post short, Off to watch Olympic hockey. Thanks for stopping by!

I'll be off and on with the posts these next couple of weeks because the Olympics are in my city and I have Olympic fever!!

Unscripted Sketches 41

This is my card for this week's Unscripted Sketches challenge.

I used Stampin' Up! Sending Love DSP and the Whoo's Your Valentine? stamp set. Loving the pinks and chocolate browns of this paper. Although you can't see it from the photo, the paper has glitter on it! Oooh. Gotta love that.

Card Patterns 50

I love the 'I {Love} Love' jumbo wheel. In this Card Patterns challenge, I used it as background stamp.

I made this card for an upcoming anniversary, but I will definitely try to find more uses for this wheel beyond the regular "lovey-dovey" cards.

Sketch & Stash #28

Gotta love sketches! And you gotta love sketches that help you use up your stash!

For this Sketch & Stash challenge, I dug deep and used up this Basic Grey Offbeat paper that I'd been holding onto for a while.

Not only that, I also found a use for the bird stickers from the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit. I was a bit sad to cut up the paper, but it's going towards a good card.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Monday!

I'm trying to use up all of my In Color paper and products right now. I love the tropical flavour these colors have. The sketch for this card is from Taylored Expressions.

All the products are from Stampin' Up!, with the exception of the blinged flower centres.

Inspired Crafters - SSC #5

I love linear and/or grid sketches! So this challenge at Inspired Crafters was a fun one. Actually, all their challenges are fun.

For this sketch challenge, the bright tropical waters and colorful fish in my snorkelling photos were screaming blue and orange. So, I used SU's tempting turquoise textured cardstock as my base and Basic Grey offbeat for the orange patterned paper accent. It was hard to part with the orange. I had been hoarding it for a while. ;)

The sketch included some sewing or stitching on the layout. I haven't caught onto that aspect of scrapbooking yet, partly because I don't have a sewing machine. Who knows? Maybe it will show itself in a future layout.

Unscripted Sketches #40

Unscripted Sketches is another great card challenge blog out there. I played along with challenge #40.

For this card, I wanted to use pink. Lots and lots of pink. So, I used the Sending Love paper (which I am trying not to hoard), Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo cardstock.
And...I wanted to simulate the puffy icing technique I had been seeing on several different blogs on the stamped cake image. To make the icing, I glued microbeads to the image. It worked!

A great sketch challenge from Card Patterns.

For this card, I needed to make it quickly. It really was quick! The card took about 15 minutes to make which was great.

For a little bit of "glam", I added some crystal effects to the small heart on the card.

Thanks for looking!
