On My Desk...

Candy Cane fabric journal (1)

The tidiness hasn't improved, but I covered a journal with the Candy Cane fabric that I have been hoarding. If you look to the bottom right, you'll see that I've also been playing with the owl punch.

I painted a top note die cut with green paint (chartreuse?) and stamped it using an image from the Notably Ornate set. Yes, it's blurry. I did that deliberately with the hopes that it would look a little aged, but there's still some work to do on that. I'm just happy that I used the fabric and it didn't sit there.

Baby Z Dec 4

Baby Z and I played in the park on the weekend. It was cold! He's holding on for dear life as mommy swings.

We also found time to decorate the Christmas tree. He's been fascinated by it all, staring at the lights and trying to grab the prickly boughs. Next week, he'll make a visit to Santa!

Thanks for visiting. Please visit Julia's blog for more desks and inspiration.

I just bought a few packages of that same fabric. I love your idea, and the way you "ruffled" the striped fabric near the edge. Your tree looks beautiful as do you and your little boy.

Great work on the journal - perfect fabric even if you had to 'get over it' before you could use it! Love the ribbon edge too, and the pleating at the top. I'm thinking that you like the swings more than baby Z!!

Like that journal - and doesn't your son look adorable! What a pretty tree, too - ours is a cacophony of handmade ornaments and sometimes I do like the look of a deliberately coordinated tree, but I don't think my kids would let me change now :)

I now have a very bad case of journal envy and need to go and make one myself. Glad to see that Baby Z is enjoying himself at the park - he looks all wide-eyed with excitement.

Baby Z is really fascinated by the tree. His first Christmas will be special to YOU and to him when he is older. For now, enjoy his visit with Santa and your play time together.
