Jumping Bean

Jumping Bean

In an effort to use up some stash, I created this layout for Art Freckles' October sketch challenge. I was glad that the sketch required multiple photos because it's much faster to work through all those photographs!

The sketch was from a previous challenge at Sketchabilities.

More Christmas...

Clean & Simple FTL 112

Two Christmas cards this week! I'm on a roll!

This card was created for Clean & Simple FTL 112. I took quite a few liberties with this one. The sketch is amazing and I plan to use it again.

Getting started on Christmas

Cardabilities 13

I figured this year I would get a head start on my stack of Christmas cards. Usually, I wait until the end of November and scramble to get them done. Then, I procrastinate on mailing them...

I used the sketch from Cardabilities to make this card.

I just love the Candy Cane designer paper. Lots of bling and lots of cute designs. The sentiment is from the Word Play set and the poinsetta image is from the Bells & Boughs set.

Thanks for looking!

On My Desk...

Catching up on Project 365. I have a lot of recording to do and photos to develop. It's amazing how quickly the year moves, especially when a baby arrives.

An angry Baby Z.

Things I Love...

I love orange. That is no secret.

My current orange obsessions:

The Bumbleride Indie in Spice. Love it. Love it. Love it. I think I'm going to buy one just because it's orange. Plus all the nifty features that will have Baby Z riding in style.

The Lug Tango Travel Wallet. Necessary and stylish. Perfect for holding multiple passports, itineraries, tickets and spare change. This wallet is meant for me and it doesn't look "mom-ish".

There's more. I'll save some for a future post.

Discovering the fist

Yum Fist

Baby Z discovered his hands a few months ago. It's really cute when a baby reaches this milestone as they can't stop putting their hands into their mouths. In Baby Z's case, he tries to shove his entire fist into his mouth and more...

I based my layout on the Sketchabilities sketch below and Scrap That Baby!'s prompt.

Other than the ribbons and the strip of yellow patterned paper, the layout consists of Stampin' Up! products. I am using up the rest of the Playdate paper and I'm down to two sheets. I've never used up an entire package before! I'm almost tempted to order another package.

Thanks for stopping by today!

On My Desk...

Workdesk 71

A new mess! I am breaking out and using the fabric panels as we speak. The fabric will be part of a mini-album I am creating to document Baby Z's first Christmas.  Also on the desk are papers for a layout that I am hoping to finish by the end of the week.

What's new with Baby Z?

Canucks 2010

He attended his first every NHL (National Hockey League) game! We take hockey very seriously in Canada. Our favourite team is the Vancouver Canucks! He was decked out in his hockey gear and cheered very loudly. I think he was more mesmerized by the lights and loud noises.

A quick, orangey card

CCMC 119

A quick card inspired by the sketch below:

I really enjoy the challenges from Connie & Mary.

Keeping this post short today as my day is jammed packed. We're going to a hockey game tonight!! That is the highlight of the whole day.

The above card used all different shades of orange -  Peach Parfait, Pumpkin Pie and Dusty Durango - as well as yellows and greens. I'm still sad about my embossing folder, but I'm glad it survived to make this card.

Heavy Metal

OLW 23

This week's One-Layer Wednesday challenge was to create a card with a metallic element.

I decided to create a romantic birthday card. The Eiffel Tower image was embossed using a hematite colored embossing powder and popped up with dimensionals. The image behind the Tower was embossed with clear powder. I love how it also turned out metallic.

Finally, I added three rhinestones to the bottom of the sentiment because sometimes romance needs bling.

Thanks for looking.

A minor tragedy!

My vintage wall embossing folder was mangled while making a card this week! Tragic!!

Broken embossing folder

I guess I'll have to buy a new one.

On My Desk...

Workdesk 70

Well, I managed to finish off that baby brag book just in time! I would show the inside; however, grandma is not the type to have her face plastered on the Internet, so the outside of the book will have to do.

My plan is to start using the fabric panels this week. Seriously. I will.

Baby Z starting solids.

Starting solids

He loves carrots. A mess. A total mess. And he wants to be in control of the spoon.

Cardabilities sketch challenge

I made, not one, but two cards for the Cardabilties Challenge.

The cards were based on the following sketch:

Card 1:

Cardabilities 12

Card 2:

Cardabilities 12 (1)

The theme for me was flowers. There are so many great ones out there. It was time to share and stop hoarding them.

A Hoot of a Birthday!

I broke down and got the owl punch. I don't know why I hesitated...this punch is cute!

SR 39

The card was inspired by this photo from Cupcake Inspirations

and this sketch from Stampin' Royalty

I missed the deadlines for both, but no matter... The card was still fun to create.
