On my desk...

It's been a very long while since I've linked up. I'm glad to see that there are still many familiar faces and new ones who link up each week.

My desk this week...or rather..What's under my desk?

A selection of stamp sets and accessories that I will be selling this week/into the new year. It's my spring cleaning...several months too late. :) The top of my desk is frightening. I'm afraid to look at it.

And here is my Baby Z. Not a baby anymore. A walking, running, screeching toddler at 20 months old.
Baby Z & funny faces
He's well aware of the camera now and making funny faces is the norm, especially at Christmas Eve when he should be in bed before Santa arrives

Thanks for visiting and happy new year! May all your dreams come true in 2012!

December Daily 2011 | The Home Stretch

I hope you've had a fabulous Christmas. We certainly did.

Baby Z tore into his gifts from Santa and decided that the packaging was more fun than the actual gift. We spent most of the day in our PJs which, for us, is a rare treat. I wouldn't have spent Christmas any other way.

Onto the December Daily. This is the fastest project I've completed this year! All I have to do is print out the photos, add a few embellishments (maybe) and insert into the album.

Our 1st Family Christmas

I finally got around to scrapping Baby Z's first Christmas and, of course, our first Christmas as a family. I used sketch 192 from Nuts About Sketches. I missed the design team deadline for this sketch, but I wanted to play along since this is such a fantastic sketch.

All that fabulous Stampin' Up! Christmas DSP that I had been using for cards finally made its way onto a layout.

I noticed after photographing and editing the layout that an ampersand from the letter stickers package escaped and found its way onto this layout! ;) Oh well, I'm still in holiday mode.

Merry Christmas

This year's Christmas card photo:

2011 Christmas Card Photo

I'll be posting on and off the next few weeks. Hoping to spend time just winding down the year.

Wishing you a joyous and blessed holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

Photo Gift Tags

A great way to use up some scraps and photos that didn't make it into your scrapbooks.

I turned these 2 1/2" circles (leftover from another project) and turned them into gift tags for my nieces' Christmas gifts.

Picture gift tags

I had taken a bunch of photos of the girls & Baby Z and these photos were the ones that didn't make it into the album. I stamped a sentiment on a small strip of Whisper White cardstock, added a rhinestone and adhered it to the tag. A string of Cherry Cobbler baker's twine to attach the tags to the gift and - tada! - done in 5 minutes.

Quick projects. I like that.

This Snow Much Fun set is a blast! I absolutely love all the images in this set. If you don't have it, you should get it. Really. And the Letters to Santa DSP.

Christmas Cards 2011

A simple card where I stamped the Christmas tree image twice - once on Whisper White cardstock and on watercolor paper. I painted the image with Lucky Limeade on the watercolor paper. Once dry, I cut the image out and added some sparkles with Dazzling Details. Although it is difficult to see from the photo, the tree is popped up with foam dimensionals.

I think I'll be making a few more of this card.

Thought I would get a head start on my resolution.

Colorful Ornaments Card

A bright and colorful card using the Merry and Type set.

The bold typeface and images of this set make it so easy to emboss and watercolor for that WOW kind of card. Merry & Type coordinates beautifully with Letters to Santa DSP.

Christmas Cards 2011

With this card, I heat embossed the ornaments image and the "25" with pewter embossing powder. I could heat emboss all day. It's probably my favorite technique! The ornaments image was colored with classic ink and the aquapainter in Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade. A strip of velvet ribbon for additional texture and some jingle bells added for a tinkly sound.

I am really enjoying this photo format vs the traditional format for this project. I like that I will have a completed album once Christmas Day arrives.

Sweet & simple thank you

A couple of weeks ago, I needed some thank you cards. I needed them FAST!

The Easy Events set came to the rescue!

Easy Events Thank You card

The hardest part about the card was placing those tiny halfback pearls onto the flowers. This was truly a 10 minute card.

Comfort & Joy

A quick and simple card I made using the Comfort and Joy set from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.

Comfort & Joy

Lots of sponging and blender pen use with this one. I cased this card right out of the mini catalogue. I just swapped the colours.

I added some texture with the velvet ribbon in Very Vanilla and baker's twine in Cherry Cobbler.

Nuts About Sketches 191

It's another week of sketches at Nuts About Sketches! The design team created some fabulous layouts with this week's sketch.

Here is my layout.

1st Year Photos

I had these small proofs of Baby Z's photoshoot and I wanted to used them on something besides bottlecap magnets.

1st Year Photos

I punched out the images with a 1"punch. To create the circle matte, I punched out a larger circle as a template and sponged inked around it before adhering the photograph.

1st Year Photos

The die cut letters were popped up using foam adhesive. Love this stuff!

Snow Much More Fun!

Yes, yet another card created using the Snow Much Fun set. I can't get enough of it.
Snow Much Fun cards
I won't go into too much detail about the card. Basically, I did a little bit of watercoloring and mounted the image onto some dotted glimmer paper.

Check out the jingle bells attached to the Old Olive satin ribbon. Cards with sound. I like that very much.
