Today...

It's been a few days since I posted a daily gratitude, but really, who's keeping track and reading? Probably only me.

Life, as it does, gets in the way of blogging and such.

A little eggo...

Over at Simplicity, we are asked to create a one-layer card that features an egg or eggs. Onto that in a second.

Because it is also Little Things week, we were asked,"What LITTLE THING could you not clean your house without?"

My response: "My little thing for cleaning my home is a maid, but because I lack the funds to hire one full-time, I must have rubber gloves."

Onto the card...

OLW 46

I created a card for both a boy and a girl that features the Easter bunny with some eggs. I used a masking technique to get Thumper to stand behind the eggs. On the Bashful Blue card, I drew in some grass to create additional depth. Both cards have a small strip of textured cardstock added near the bottom.

Cute. Easy. Love that. And I hope the little kids who will be receiving them love them too!

A birthday card for a boy

Since I have a little boy, I know that, eventually, I will have to delve into making cards for little boys as I expect that most of his friends will be boys.

This is a sketch from Cards for Men, a site dedicated to masculine card making. I really liked the sketch, but I found it hard to make a boy card. I wanted to add glitter or something. With boy-type cards, less is better.

Cards for Men 6

Here is my card using the colors Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist and Certainly Celery. I added a pom-pom trim in Tangerine Tango which I hope wasn't too girly. We'll see what the recipient says. Cross your fingers.

On my desk...

Hello! Welcome to my always messy desk or as I call it "creative chaos".

WOYWW 94

A design team layout I am working on for Scrap that Baby! This is my first design team, so I'm pretty excited. Reveal day is not until the beginning of April.

WOYWW 94

A wider view. There's a whole lot of everything on this desk. Paper, fabric, buttons, ribbon, a toilet paper roll... All projects I am thinking about, but never start or finish. One day...

Onto the babe..

365: Week 11

Savoring the cuddles because I know he won't want to do this forever. Also, my time as a SAHM will end very soon and I will be returning to my day job. I want to get all the cuddles I can get!

365: Week 11

Baby Z's new game is balancing his spoon between his teeth. He thinks it's hilarious! It is amusing, but it's pretty messy as most of the food ends up on the floor. Well, at least he's discovered one of his talents.

Thank you for visiting!

365: Week 11

Week 11. I can't believe that spring is here. These are some of my photos this week.

365: Week 11

Baby Z proudly showing off the paper he pulled from the recycling. The photo is blurry because the baby moves so quickly.

365: Week 11

Cupcakes I bought to celebrate St. Patrick's Day from Big City Cupcakes. Only one is green. They were all delicious.

365: Week 11

One of the meals my husband made this week. BBQ chicken, green beans, rice and mash potatoes. Yes, two starches. Yum.

365: Week 11

He also made lobster risotto with scallops and shrimp. Very tasty. I'm very lucky.

Thanks for visiting!

Cardabilities 27

Such a lovely sketch from Cardabilities. I love stitching on cards, but I don't like breaking out the sewing machine.

My card:

Cardabilities 27

A slightly crooked photo. This card was a special order. I like that it's somewhat vintage and whimsical, but it's not your typical Easter card.

My method: I used the Nature Walk set and stamped the images in Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink. To create the effect of several eggs, I used a masking technique. The egg images were cut into one-inch squares and adhered to the Crumb Cake cardstock. A Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon and linen thread tie the card together.

Thanks for looking!

Grin

This is a great sketch from Sketch Thursdays! Multi-photos, simple.

For some reason, tilted photos scare me. It's rare that I'll tilt a photo in my layouts. I went with the linear approach.

The story behind the layout: 6-months old. My little boy can sit up on his own and he's proud of it!

I'm glad that I found another use for the pom-pom ribbon and glimmer paper. Still loving that paper.

Thanks for stopping by today.
