Nuts About Sketches 197

It's reveal day at Nuts About Sketches!

This week's sketch was a 2-pager, but I opted to do only the left side of the sketch.

Holiday Party

The photos were taken at one of my husband's work functions in 2010. We were able to take Baby Z with us and my husband loved showing him off to his colleagues. Baby Z was only 7-months old at the time.

I used Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock and Pocketful of Posies DSP. Several of the other elements such as the paper flowers, letter stickers and phrase stickers are from my stash. The journalling card is from a scrap piece of Newsprint DSP which was retired in 2011.

What you can't see here is that I used some of my (hoarded) glimmer brads as the centre of the flowers. Slowly making my way through those treasures.

Letter from Santa

Baby Z and I wrote a letter to Santa Claus in December. Santa responded the week of Christmas.

I wasn't on the ball enough to photograph this for our December Daily, but the Letters to Santa DSP is perfect for preserving Z's first letter from Santa. I had to trim the sides of the letter just a little bit to get it to fit onto the page.

Nuts About Sketches 196

My first layout of 2012. The layout was inspired by a fabulous sketch at Nuts About Sketches.

Celebrate Mommy's Day

The photos were taken in June around my birthday. As you can see from the open mouth which could only be letting out a shriek, Z had a great time.

Some details:

Celebrate Mommy's Day

The butterfly punch and dots embossing folder for texture.

Celebrate Mommy's Day

A ribbon charm from long, long, loooooooong ago. Remember when ribbon charms were everywhere? An oldie, but a goodie. I was happy to put it to good use.

Thanks for visiting. Let's see your layouts! Play along at Nuts About Sketches.

Project 365 2011 | Wrap Up

I spent the first couple of weeks finishing up my Project 365 for 2011. This involved printing photos and adding some journalling that I missed as well as inserting all the photos into their respective pockets.

Let me share some of our photos.

Will I do this project again for 2012? No. I did it for two years and I'm a little burnt out by it. This doesn't mean I have stopped recording our daily adventures/non-adventures. We love looking back at our year and seeing how much Baby Z has grown.

I plan on taking a different approach. Maybe Project 12? One layout a month highlighting our lives. Most likely in a digital format.

Stay tuned. Thanks for visiting.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope 2012 is starting off the way you like it.

I'm around. I have lots of crafty stuff to show you, but I'm taking an extended break. Let's call it "The Post-Holiday holiday".

I'll be back next week. Take care.
