Elephant Birthday

The Elebration stamp is such a cute stamp! It's my go-to stamp for little kid birthday cards.

Happy Birthday!

The little balloon was cut out and popped up with some adhesive foam. It's so cute. I hope the birthday baby likes it too.

Thanks for looking!

Nuts About Sketches #200

This will be my last month as a design team member for Nuts About Sketches. Shawn creates such fantastic sketches and I'm honored to have been part of the team for the past 6 months.

For this week's sketch, I finally got around to making that Father's Day layout. The picture is from 2010. Baby Z is almost two years old!

1st Father's Day

I used some stamps on this layout. I used the "Dad" stamp from a brand new set called Loved Ones available in the current Stampin' Up! mini catalogue. There's a stamp for almost every family member. Pretty handy when you want to customize a card.

The journaling card is leftover from my Project Life kit. I have a quite a few of those cards. They will be sure to make there way onto several layouts. Nothing like straight lines and linearity to make my day.

Apothecary Labels

The Apothecary Art stamp set and the labels framelits dies are taking the crafting world by storm! It's a gorgeous duo for those vintage projects.

I played, like I always do, and here are some of my projects.

Apothecary Label cards

I rarely play with Calypso Coral and I'm glad I did! I love the combination with Lucky Limeade. Plus, the new sheer ribbon makes it all the more fun.

Conversation Hearts

As a kid, I really loved conversation hearts during Valentine's Day. Not to eat, but to read the messages that were imprinted on the hearts. Some were sweet and others were quite funny. When I saw the Candy Conversations stamp set in the new Stampin' Up! mini catalogue, I bought it right away.

It's a single wood mounted stamp with sweet Valentine sayings.

This is a card that has been quite popular among crafters. I created my own variation of it. Still lots of glimmer paper left. A sweet and simple card.

Conversation Hearts

This second card was inspired by an explosion of candy hearts! I tried to recreate the effect onto this card. I used different colours and I like how it turned out.

Where have I been? & Project 12

I'm still here. Just not blogging as much. Thinking a lot about this blog.

Things like...
  • Do I still want to blog?
  • What direction should this blog take?
  • Should I delete this blog?
  • Will anyone care?
The answer to the last one...probably not. The stats on this blog are not fantastic, but then again, I didn't start blogging to gain notoriety. I blog for me.

These are questions, I expect, will be answered in time. At the moment, I'm in a creative funk. Although I'm surrounded by fabulous new products, I can't seem to find the energy or the desire to create anything with them. I've had mojo issues before, so hopefully, this spell is a short one.

Onto my next project.

For the last two years, I participated in Project 365, in which I took a picture everyday for the entire year and documented the details of that day. This year, I didn't feel like doing a 366 day photo essay.

I decided on Project 12. Basically, I take relevant photos from that month and group them onto one layout. Simple. Easy. No pressure to take a photo each day. The emphasis is on relevant. There are only so many photos I can take of Baby Z dancing or playing in the bathtub, however cute he may be.
And at the end of the year, I hope to have 12 fantastic layouts. Mostly digital.

Here is January:
